Vortex stretching in a homogeneous isotropic turbulence
Stretching vortices whose sizes are in the inertial subrange of a homogeneous isotropic turbulence are picked up, and the geometric relations with the neighboring vortices whose scales are twice larger are studied.

Higher-order dissipation in the theory of homogeneous isotropic turbulence
The two-point theory of homogeneous isotropic turbulence is extended to source terms appearing in the equations for higher-order structure functions. For this, transport equations for these source terms are derived. We focus on the trace of the resulting

Energetic particle parallel diffusion in a cascading wave turbulence in the foreshock region [PDF]
We study parallel (field-aligned) diffusion of energetic particles in the upstream of the bow shock with test particle simulations. We assume parallel shock geometry of the bow shock, and that MHD wave turbulence convected by the solar wind toward the ...

Psuedospectral calculation of shock turbulence interactions [PDF]
A Chebyshev-Fourier discretization with shock fitting is used to solve the unsteady Euler equations. The method is applied to shock interactions with plane waves and with a simple model of homogeneous isotropic turbulence.

Large-eddy simulation (LES) models are sensitive to numerical discretization because of the large fraction of resolved turbulent energy (>80%) and the strong non-linear interactions between resolved-scale fields with the turbulence subgrid scale (SGS ...

Fluctuation-induced forces in homogeneous isotropic turbulence
Understanding force generation in non-equilibrium systems is a significant challenge in statistical physics. We uncover a surprising fluctuation-induced force between two plates immersed in homogeneous isotropic turbulence using Direct Numerical Simulation. The force is a non-monotonic function of plate separation.
