Point evaluation and Hardy space on a homogeneous tree [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We consider transfer functions of time--invariant systems as defined by Basseville, Benveniste, Nikoukhah and Willsky when the discrete time is replaced by the nodes of an homogeneous tree.

The Laplacian on homogeneous spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2008
The solution of the eigenvalue problem of the Laplacian on a general homogeneous space G∕H is given. Here, G is a compact, semisimple Lie group, H is a closed subgroup of G, and the rank of H is equal to the rank of G. It is shown that the multiplicity of the lowest eigenvalue of the Laplacian on G∕H is just the degeneracy of the lowest Landau level ...

3D In Vitro Models of Breast Cancer: Current Challenges and Future Prospects Toward Recapitulating the Microenvironment and Mimicking Key Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In vitro cancer models are advantageous for studying important processes such as tumorigenesis, cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. The complexity and biological relevance increase depending on the model structure, organization, and composition of materials and cells.

Characterization of a homogeneous Orlicz space

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In this article we define and characterize the homogeneous Orlicz space $\mathscr{D}^{1,\Phi}_{\rm o}(\mathbb{R}^{N})$ where $\Phi:\mathbb{R}\to [0,+\infty)$ is the N-function generated by an odd, increasing and not-necessarily differentiable ...

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Soft‐Layered Composites with Wrinkling‐Activated Multi‐Linear Elastic Behavior, Stress Mitigation, and Enhanced Strain Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, exciting new bi‐/multi‐linear elastic behavior of soft elastic composites that accompany the activation of wrinkling in the embedded interfacial layers is analyzed. The new features and performance of these composite materials, including dramatic enhancements in energy storage, can be tailored by the concentration of interfacial layers ...

Immersing homogeneous spaces in euclidean space

open access: yesPublicacions Matemàtiques, 1982
In Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 213, 305-314 (1975; Zbl 0312.55020), \textit{K. Y. Lam} proves, among other things, an immersion result for the real flag manifold \(G_{{\mathbb{R}}}(n_ 1,...,n_ s)=O(n_ 1+...+n_ s)/O(n_ 1)x...xO(n_ s)\) where O(n) is the real orthogonal group. His result is a special case of the following more general observation.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...
