The puncture prevention and energy absorption performance of composite metal foam (CMF) are studied experimentally and numerically for hazardous materials transportation protection. The numerical model implementing air within the CMF (nonhomogeneous model using fluid cavity technique) predicts puncture more accurately compared to the homogeneous CMF ...

Production of Metallic Foam Precursors Using Current‐Activated Pressure‐Assisted Densification
A powder compaction metallurgical method, known as current‐activated pressure‐assisted densification, is applied to enhance the compaction of metal foam precursors. This method improves precursor quality by achieving higher density, lower electrical resistivity, and more uniform pore nucleation in the resulting foams, reducing energy consumption and ...

Grinding chips of high‐alloyed steel are prepared to be admixed to a starting powder mixture for laser powder bed fusion. A three‐stage preparation is performed, including washing in acetone, magnetic separation, and ball milling. The addition of 30% of grinding chips to the powder mixture allows the fabrication of dense samples.

Studies on Riemannian Homogeneous Spaces [PDF]
The purpose of the present paper is to give the details of the results announced in the C. R. notes [7], [8] and [9].In I which corresponds to [7], we shall develop a method for the study of affine transformations of a Riemannian manifold and prove Lemma 5 which is fundamental for the results in I and II.

Experimental Analysis and Physics‐Based Analytical Model on Twisted and Coiled Artificial Muscles
Twisted and coiled artificial muscles made from silver‐coated nylon fibers are investigated through experiments and analytical modeling. The actuators achieve contractions up to 19.3% and specific work of 8 kJ kg−1, though efficiency remains limited (≈0.15%) by thermal losses.

More on the cardinality of a topological space
In this paper we continue to investigate the impact that various separation axioms and covering properties have onto the cardinality of topological spaces. Many authors have been working in that field.

PARABOLIC COMPACTIFICATION OF HOMOGENEOUS SPACES
AbstractIn this article, we study compactifications of homogeneous spaces coming from equivariant, open embeddings into a generalized flag manifold$G/P$. The key to this approach is that in each case$G/P$is the homogeneous model for a parabolic geometry; the theory of such geometries provides a large supply of geometric tools and invariant differential
