Bioenergy Cropping Reduces the Spatiotemporal Scaling of Soil Bacterial Biodiversity
Consistent with patterns observed in plant and animal communities, soil bacterial communities exhibit significant species–time–area and phylogenetic–time–area relationships independent of nested structure. Bioenergy cropping significantly reduces the spatiotemporal scaling rates, particularly in sandy loam soils.

Temperature seasonality drives taxonomic and functional homogenization of tropical butterflies
To better understand the potential impact of climate change on butterfly assemblages across a tropical island, we model the potential for taxonomic and functional homogenization and determine climate‐ and trait‐mediated shifts in projected species ...

Utilizing molecular engineering for network design, three pesticide‐loaded organogels (PLOs) carriers exhibiting varying degrees of flexibility were prepared. The mechanical properties of these carriers, tunable via their network molecular structures, enhance their structural adaptability and retention stability at biological interfaces, thereby ...

Monitoring changes in precipitation and radiative energy using satellite data and climate models [PDF]
Current changes in the tropical hydrological cycle, including water vapour and precipitation, are presented over the period 1979-2008 based on a diverse suite of observational datasets and atmosphere-only climate models.

RIPK3 Orchestrates Scar‐Associated Macrophage Dysfunction to Drive Pulmonary Fibrosis
Beyond signaling cell death, RIPK3 emerges as a critical metabolic regulator in pulmonary fibrosis. This research reveals that RIPK3 promotes PI3K‐AKT signaling in scar‐associated macrophages to fuel polyamine synthesis, independent of its kinase activity.

Biotic Deterioration and Homogenization: Why It Matters
Globally, locally, and regionally, there are different patterns of biotic diversity and community composition reflecting past evolutionary history shaped by differences in niches, productivity, climate, and other ambient factors, as well as migration ...

A self‐regulated Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 strain equipped with a dual‐key genetic circuit achieved antibiotic‐free stability and programmable lysis for therapeutic protein delivery. By co‐expressing an IL‐2 mutant and Amuc_1100, the engineered bacteria restored immune balance and epithelial integrity, providing a safe and precise approach for ...
