Purpose The purpose of this paper is to obtain a permeability law of a gas flow through a permeable medium using particle image velocimetry experimental data as primal information, which is conflated with numerical calculations by means of a multi-scale method. Lattice Boltzmann method for homogeneous and heterogeneous cavitation
Physical Review E, 2005The Shan and Chen single component multiphase lattice Boltzmann model is used to simulate homogeneous and heterogeneous cavitation. The simulations show excellent agreement with the equation of state for homogeneous cavitation and with energy considerations based on interface formation and bubble expansion for heterogeneous cavitation.

DNS of homogenous shear turbulence revisited with the lattice Boltzmann method
Journal of Turbulence, 2005Direct numerical simulations (DNSs) of homogenous shear turbulence are performed using the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). This problem is revisited for two principle reasons: (i) to establish the validity of the LBM as an effective computational tool for turbulence; and (ii) to perform a detailed investigation of the dependence of the asymptotic state

Abstract A novel molecular collision based Lattice Boltzmann model at mesoscale was extended for representing hydrodynamics and concentration field of three typical reactive systems: (a) a reactive flow in a catalytic pore, (b) a fluid flow in a rectangular channel with a homogeneous reaction in the bulk and (c) a fluid flow that passes a reactive ...

Abstract In this study, we present a numerical simulation on behavior of a liquid droplet on a heated horizontal substrate to investigate the contact line motion using multiphase Lattice Boltzmann method. For this purpose, the model of Lee is used which is applicable to a wide range of density ratios.

Abstract Dielectric permittivity is a prevailing property used for the estimation of water content in heterogeneous materials like soils and concrete. Troubles are frequently encountered when searching for the relationship between a material's permittivity and its degree of saturation.
