Factoring Continuous Homomorphisms Defined on Submonoids of Products of Topologized Monoids

open access: yesAxioms, 2019
We study factorization properties of continuous homomorphisms defined on submonoids of products of topologized monoids. We prove that if S is an ω-retractable submonoid of a product D = ∏ i ∈ I D i of topologized monoids ...

Homomorphisms of connectome graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We propose to study homomorphisms of connectome graphs. Homomorphisms can be studied as sequences of elementary homomorphisms - folds, which identify pairs of vertices. Several fold types are defined. Initial computation results for some connectome graphs are described.

Obstructing Anosov flows on cusped 3‐manifolds

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 5, Page 1584-1592, May 2025.
Abstract Using results relating taut foliations, Heegaard–Floer homology and pseudo‐Anosov flows, we find cusped hyperbolic 3‐manifolds which are not the non‐singular part of a pseudo‐Anosov flow. In particular, we find the first examples of cusped hyperbolic 3‐manifolds not admitting veering triangulations, confirming a conjecture of S. Schleimer.

Distributive and Dual Distributive Elements in Hyperlattices

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2017
In this paper we introduce and study distributive elements, dual distributive elements in hyperlattices, and prove that these elements forms ∧-semi lattice and ∨-semi hyperlattice, respectively.

Homomorphisms and Structural Properties of Relational Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
Two main topics are considered: The characterisation of finite homomorphism dualities for relational structures, and the splitting property of maximal antichains in the homomorphism order.

Minimum Cost Homomorphisms to Locally Semicomplete and Quasi-Transitive Digraphs

open access: yes, 2007
For digraphs $G$ and $H$, a homomorphism of $G$ to $H$ is a mapping $f:\ V(G)\dom V(H)$ such that $uv\in A(G)$ implies $f(u)f(v)\in A(H)$. If, moreover, each vertex $u \in V(G)$ is associated with costs $c_i(u), i \in V(H)$, then the cost of a ...

Minimal limit key polynomials

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract In this paper, we extend the theory of minimal limit key polynomials of valuations on the polynomial ring K[x]$K[x]$. Minimal key polynomials are useful to describe, for instance, the defect of an extension of valued fields. We use the theory of cuts on ordered abelian groups to show that the previous results on bounded sets of key polynomials

Semigroup homomorphisms on matrix algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We explore the connection between ring homomorphisms and semigroup homomorphisms on matrix algebras over rings or $C^*$-algebras.

Homomorphisms of multiplicative groups of fields preserving algebraic dependence [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We study homomorphisms of multiplicative groups of fields preserving algebraic dependence and show that such homomorphisms give rise to valuations.
