Bilateral Homonymous Hemianopia

Bilateral homonymous hemianopia occurred in 15 patients seen during a four-year period. Persons with this visual deficit had similarly shaped visual field defects on corresponding sides of the vertical midline for each eye, equal visual acuity which is generally normal, and normal pupil and fundus examinations.

Congenital Homonymous Hemianopia

We reviewed eight cases of congenital homonymous hemianopia to emphasize the features that may help the clinician to diagnose a congenital disease. The patients were usually unaware of the visual field defect. The hemianopia was usually congruous when incomplete and the opticokinetic nystagmus had a normal pattern.
