Journal of Homosexuality, 1982This study reports an investigation of the relationships between sex-role identity and sexual object choice. The Bem Sex Role Inventory was completed by a group of 37 lesbians and a comparison group of 44 presumed heterosexual women similar in age and education. The BSRI assesses masculinity and femininity as independent constructs.
