Stable Homotopy Monomorphisms

Applied Categorical Structures, 1997
The concept of monomorphism in a category can be defined using an appropriate pullback diagram. But in the homotopy category of \({\mathcal T} {\mathcal O} {\mathcal P}\) pullbacks do not generally exist. Then \textit{M. Mather} [Can. J. Math. 28, 225-263 (1976; Zbl 0351.55005)] introduced another notion of homotopy pullbacks which do exist.

Monomorphisms and epimorphisms in homotopy theory

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1983
The author improves the results in his paper with \textit{P. Hilton} [see the preceding review] on Hopfian and co-Hopfian objects in the pointed homotopy category \({\mathcal K}\) of path-connected CW-spaces by replacing finiteness conditions on homology by Hopficity conditions. Furthermore the question is studied of when a morphism \(f: X\to Y\) in \({
