ABSTRACT Animal medical systems encompass a wide range of behaviours aimed at maintaining or improving health. It has become clear that these behaviours are not limited to animals treating themselves (self‐medication) but also include the treatment of group members, resulting in the adoption of the more inclusive term “animal medication”.

Non‐breeding social behaviour as an investment in reducing future territoriality costs

ABSTRACT Territoriality is costly, and animals should adopt strategies to cope with these costs. Seasonal territoriality for breeding – a common strategy in many groups of animals – can reduce costs during the non‐breeding season but requires establishing new territories every breeding season.

Proposal for a Germline Expert Panel to Improve Variant Reclassification in Japan

This letter argues that Japan's dependence on a single foreign company for classifying germline variants is delaying critical treatment for cancer patients. The author proposes establishing a national “Germline Expert Panel” to provide independent, timely oversight, and ensure patients receive appropriate care.
