Molecular phylogeny of the genus Rotylenchus (Nematoda, Tylenchida) and description of a new species [PDF]
17 pages, 8 figures.A description of a new species of plant parasitic nematodes of the genus Rotylenchus from the family Hoplolaimidae is given and a recognition of Rotylenchus jaeni comb. n., previously known as subspecies R.

Evaluation of Characters Used To Identify Species of the Genus Rotylenchus Filipjev, 1936 (Nematoda: Hoplolaimidae) [PDF]
[EN]Different characters used to identify species of the genus Rotylenchus have been evaluated. Ninety-one populations belonging to 45 species of the genus were subjected to principal component analyses. Ten characters representing the general size effect contributed similarly to the OTUs' dispersion along the first principal component.

Family Hoplolaimidae Filipjev, 1934 124. Helicotylenchus sp. —{22} (5, 0, 0, 0; 1) Population structure and abundance. Single female. Ecology and distribution. The majority of representatives of the genus are edaphobionts, some species occur in water bodies as well. Presumably, certain species may dwell in water constantly, parasitizing aquatic plants (

Morphological and molecular characterisation of Scutellonema species from yam (Dioscorea spp.) and a key to the species of the genus [PDF]
The yam nematode, Scutellonema bradys, is a major threat to yam (Dioscorea spp.) production across yam-growing regions. In West Africa, this species cohabits with many morphologically similar congeners and, consequently, its accurate diagnosis is ...

In Europe, we explored latitudinal community shifts for nematodes—abundant soil organisms that include root herbivores—in the rhizospheres of climate change‐driven range‐expanding plant species. We sampled nematode communities of several range‐expanding plant species along their expansion trajectory and compared these nematode communities with those of

Abstract Below‐ground nematodes are important for soil functioning, as they are ubiquitous and operate at various trophic levels in the soil food web. However, morphological nematode community analysis is time consuming and requires ample training. qPCR‐based nematode identification techniques are well available, but high‐throughput sequencing (HTS ...

PPNID : a reference database and molecular identification pipeline for plant-parasitic nematodes [PDF]
Motivation: The phylum Nematoda comprises the most cosmopolitan and abundant metazoans on Earth and plant-parasitic nematodes represent one of the most significant nematode groups, causing severe losses in agriculture.

Entomoparasitic nematodes are natural control agents for many insect pests, including fleas that transmit Yersinia pestis, a causative agent of plague, in the natural foci of this extremely dangerous zoonosis. We examined the flea samples from the Volga‐Ural natural focus of plague for their infestation with nematodes.
