Antiemesis Corticosteroids Potentiate Checkpoint Blockade Efficacy by Normalizing the Immune Microenvironment in Metastatic Murine Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Corticosteroids improve the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade therapy in metastatic murine breast cancer. By normalizing the tumor immune microenvironment, corticosteroids reduce immunosuppressive signals, restore T‐cell function, and promote antitumor immune responses, resulting in enhanced tumor control.

Evaluation of pretreatment routes for seawater desalination by nanofiltration

open access: yesWater Science and Technology
Nanofiltration (NF) has been used as the default sulfate removal process in platforms to treat seawater for water flooding. Seawater is generally pretreated by chlorination and cartridge filters to reduce fouling of the membranes; however, this ...

Antiemesis Corticosteroids Potentiate Checkpoint Blockade Efficacy by Normalizing the Immune Microenvironment in Metastatic Murine Breast Cancer (Adv. Sci. 14/2026)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Breast Cancer Short‐term dexamethasone, given in clinical anti‐nausea doses, unexpectedly boosts immune checkpoint therapy in breast cancer. By normalizing tumor blood vessels, it enhances oxygenation, immune cell infiltration, and reduces immunosuppression.

Herpesvirus genome integration in whole‐genome sequences of dementia and control cohorts

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The infectious hypothesis suggests that microbes like herpesviruses may play a role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other related dementias through methods that may include viral genome integration. The occurrence of herpesvirus genome integration in dementia patients has not been thoroughly characterized ...

Three decades of western sandpiper stopover dynamics during northward migration on the Pacific Coast of North America, 1992–2022

open access: yesJournal of Avian Biology, Volume 2026, Issue 2, March 2026.
Shorebirds typically spend more time fueling and refueling during migration than they spend in actual flight, and consequently their stopover ecology has important implications for fitness and conservation. We examined spatial variation and long‐term changes in stopover duration of radio‐tagged western sandpipers Calidris mauri over three decades on ...
