Testing and Simulation of Multilayer Polyvinylidene Fluoride‐Based Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The study considers the use of polymer/dielectric‐based multilayers piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (EH) to produce an output voltage and current, by exploiting the mechanical energy provided by human organs movements. In particular, the heart motion is considered from the kinematic viewpoint, and a multiphysics theoretical model is developed to assess

Strain‐Activated Mechanical Metamaterial With Programmable Dual‐Phase Stiffness and Enhanced Energy Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A strain‐activated mechanical metamaterial is developed to achieve programmable dual‐phase stiffness through an intrinsic geometric locking mechanism. Finite element modeling and parametric analysis identify the key design parameters governing activation strain, stiffness transition, and energy absorption.

Microfabrication of Soft Millirobots Propelled by Low Voltage Electrohydraulic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Manual layer‐by‐layer assembly is replaced by wafer‐level MEMS batch fabrication for compliant polymer‐based electrohydraulic actuators. The microfabricated devices integrate sacrificially defined microcavities, Parylene‐C‐sealed inlets, and multilayer polymer–metal films.

Nanoporous Scaffold‐Assisted Ligand‐Free CsPbBr3 Quantum Dots for Bright and Ultrapure Green Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Networks of confined CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots, synthesised within nanoporous silica scaffolds using precursors containing different combinations of butylammonium bromide and crown ether additives, enable electroluminescent devices with 400‐fold enhanced charge injection and transport with respect to control devices, yielding ultrapure green ...
