ON THE RADIAL DISTRIBUTION OF HORIZONTAL BRANCH STARS IN NGC 2808
We present accurate new ultraviolet and optical BVI photometry for the Galactic globular cluster ngc2808, based on both ground-based and archival HST imagery. From this we have selected a sample of ~2,000 HB stars; given the extensive wavelength range considered and the combination of both high-angular-resolution and wide-field photometric coverage ...

A Spectroscopic Survey of Field Red Horizontal-branch Stars [PDF]
Abstract A metallicity, chemical composition, and kinematic survey has been conducted for a sample of 340 candidate field red horizontal-branch (RHB) stars. Spectra with high resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio were gathered with the McDonald Observatory 2.7 m Tull and the Hobby–Eberly Telescope echelle spectrographs, and were used

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

The Origin of Extreme Horizontal Branch Stars [PDF]
Strong mass loss on the red giant branch (RGB) can result in the formation of extreme horizontal branch (EHB) stars. The EHB stars spend most of their He core and shell burning phase at high temperatures and produce copious ultraviolet flux. They have very small hydrogen envelopes and occupy a small range in mass.

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Investigation of Squeezed Branch Pile Capacity Under Combined Horizontal–Uplift Loading
This paper investigates the bearing behavior of squeezed branch piles and straight-shaft piles under uplift and combined horizontal–uplift loading in silty clay strata. Utilizing a combined approach of laboratory model tests and numerical simulation, the

Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.
