Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Cycloid flows induced by the Large horizontal coherent structures in the vegetated compound channel

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Vegetation in general and mangrove, in particular, plays a significant role in the protection of the coastal and estuarine regions from erosion. In particular, estuarine mangrove forests can effciently reduce the impact of a strong along-bank flow during

T-Channel Field Effect Transistor with Three Input Terminals (Ti-TcFET)

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
In this paper, a novel T-channel field effect transistor with three input terminals (Ti-TcFET) is proposed. The channel of a Ti-TcFET consists of horizontal and vertical sections.

A Vertical Channel Model of Molecular Communication based on Alcohol Molecules

open access: yes, 2016
The study of Molecular Communication(MC) is more and more prevalence, and channel model of MC plays an important role in the MC System. Since different propagation environment and modulation techniques produce different channel model, most of the ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

The ability to create NTD silicon technology in the IRT-T reactor in a horizontal experimental channel with one-side access [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The article shows the ability of creation of neutron transmutation doping (NTD) of monocrystalline silicon technology in the reactor's channel, which has a one-side access.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Characterisation of a horizontal axis wind turbine’s tip and root vortices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The vortical near wake of a model horizontal axis wind turbine has been investigated experimentally in a water channel. The objective of this work is to study vortex interaction and stability of the helical vortex filaments within a horizontal axis ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Thermally Developing Forced Convection in a Horizontal Equilateral Triangular Channel

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2012
An experimental investigation was carried out to study thermally developing fully developed laminar forced convection in a horizontal equilateral triangular channel where the channel surface was heated uniformly.
