Plague and tularemia surveillance in hormozgan province, Southern Iran

BACKGROUND: Plague and tularemia are endemic rodent-borne zoonoses in Iran. This study investigated their presence of these diseases in wildlife populations in southern Iran. Sheepdogs were also surveyed as sentinel animals to provide early warning of potential outbreaks.

Iranian clinical Stenotrophomonas maltophilia isolates showed high susceptibility to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, minocycline, and levofloxacin, but marked resistance to ceftazidime and ticarcillin‐clavulanate, alongside widespread biofilm production and resistance genes.

Pathways to a Fully Renewable Energy System in Iran: A Scenario‐Based Analysis Across Power, Heat, Transport, Industry and Desalination

This study assesses three transition pathways for Iran's energy system to 2050. Only the best policy scenario (BPS) achieves 100% renewables, with over 93% of primary energy from solar photovoltaics, extensive storage, and power‐to‐X technologies. In the BPS, CO2 emissions fall to zero and the levelised cost of electricity declines to €24.7/MWh by 2050.
