In this paper, we present a novel real-time MIMO channel sounder for 28 GHz. Until now, the common practice to investigate the directional characteristics of millimeter-wave channels has been using a rotating horn antenna.

This research presents a technique to enhance the gain of a conical horn antenna by introducing a squared mounting barrier made of a printed circuit board combined with a perforated aluminum dielectric, placed between the conical horn antenna and the PCB.
