The Role of High Cxcl11 Expression in Ovarian Dysfunction Through NF‐κB and AKT Pathways in a Thin Endometrium Mouse Model

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
Thin endometrium upregulates Cxcl11, which polarizes ovarian macrophages via NF‐κB/AKT, impairing ovarian function. A new uter‐ovarian signaling axis is identified. ABSTRACT Objective Thin endometrium (TE) is a recognized cause of female infertility, primarily associated with impaired uterine receptivity.

Soil Silicon Application Alleviates Drought Stress in Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris L.)

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background: The increasing frequency and intensity of drought events have led to yield and quality losses in sugar beet production in temperate regions in Central Europe. Under arid conditions, silicon (Si) application reduced beet yield losses under drought. Similar data for temperate climates are missing.

Segmental Sudomotor Innervation in Harlequin Syndrome: A Case Report

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Harlequin syndrome (HS) is a rare neurological disorder characterised by segmental anhidrosis and contralateral compensatory flushing, typically involving the face and extending to the neck. A 44‐year‐old man developed flushing of the right hemiface accompanied by left‐sided anhidrosis affecting the face, neck, upper chest and upper extremity ...

Managing the meniscus part I—Anatomy, biomechanics, and treatment strategies for the atraumatic meniscus tear

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of this article is to serve as the first of a two‐part review on the meniscus; in this review, we will establish the background on anatomy and pathogenesis of the meniscus, as well as the effect of the meniscus on native knee kinematics and function.

Managing the meniscus Part 2: Traumatic tear patterns, biologic augmentation, transplantation, innovation and future research

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Acute, traumatic meniscus tears are common and should be repaired whenever possible. However, the biological age of the patient, along with the specific tear morphology, may significantly influence the selection of the repair technique, expected clinical outcomes and the postoperative rehabilitation protocol.

Management of increased posterior tibial slope in ACL deficiency: A narrative review and recommendation of the Osteotomy Committee of the German Knee Society

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Increased posterior tibial slope (PTS) is a known risk factor for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency and graft failure after ACL reconstruction (ACLR). Although many studies investigated different aspects related to the PTS, there is still a lack of comprehensive recommendations and practical guidelines, especially with regard to ...

Prevalence of shoulder subluxation diagnosed via ultrasound screening in infants with birth brachial plexus injuries

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Posterior shoulder subluxation and glenohumeral dysplasia are known secondary complications of birth brachial plexus palsies (BBPP) that contribute to functional limitations. The prevalence of shoulder subluxation in infants with BBPP and the timeline of when subluxation occurs in the first year of life remain unclear, with prior ...
