Twelve Challenges for Scaling Teamwork Processes

open access: yesAI Magazine, Volume 47, Issue 3, Fall 2026.
Abstract As we survey and celebrate the unprecedented growth and deployment of AI and robotics, we are concerned that current efforts are overly focused on merely increasing the numbers of fielded systems and the proportion of individuals who use them.

Molecularly Engineered Wing‐Shaped Azobenzene Memristors for Logic‐in‐Memory and Edge Visual Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 53, 24 September 2026.
Rational engineering of terminal substituents in symmetric azobenzene‐based molecules enables precise control over conformationally coupled charge‐transfer processes. This design yields tunable nonvolatile resistive memory behaviors, ranging from write‐once‐read‐many‐times (WORM) to rewritable switching.

Seed‐cone architecture of Pararaucaria utahensis Gee, Howell et Dayvault sp. nov. (Cheirolepidiaceae) from the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation of Utah, USA

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 113, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Premise Although Pararaucaria seed cones were first described 90 years ago, only in the last dozen years have we discovered the greater extent of the species diversity and paleogeographic range of the genus. Pararaucaria is now known across the mid‐latitudes of the Lower Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous in the northern and southern hemispheres ...

Understanding Plant Parasitism: Hydnora Africana and European Scientific Practice in the Early Nineteenth Century**

open access: yesBerichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 315-334, September 2026.
This article will analyze the uncertainties around collecting and classifying Hydnora africana in the first half of the nineteenth century. Emerging from the distinctive dryland ecologies of South Africa, Hydnora was interpreted as strange and cryptic by Europeans primarily because it is a root parasite—a complex floral trait that was little understood.

Nonhuman Mobilities and Multispecies Border Regimes in (Post‐)Colonial Southern Africa**

open access: yesBerichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 395-414, September 2026.
This article explores how borders in Southern Africa—such as Namibia's internal veterinary and settler border (Red Line) and national borders between Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana—functioned not only as territorial dividers but as tools to shape colonial and postcolonial multispecies hierarchies. These borders regulated human and animal movement,
