Peroxidase assay in plants: Interference by ascorbic acid and endogenous inhibitors in Sedum and Pelargonium enzyme extracts

open access: yes, 1984
Sedum album and Pelargonium zonale extracts do not show any peroxidase activity. Both extracts provoke a lag phase in the horse-radish peroxidase-catalyzed oxidation of guaiacol by H2O2.

Protocol for assessing GD2 on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections using immunofluorescence staining

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: The detection of disialoganglioside GD2 on tumor biopsies, especially in paraffin-embedded tissues, has been challenging due to the glycolipid structure of GD2 and its membrane anchorage.

Ocular Manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus Infection in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eyes are essential sensory organs needed by teleost Atlantic salmon for high visual acuity and survival in both the wild and in aquaculture settings. In this work, we assessed the ocular manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) infection in Atlantic salmon by a cohabitation‐mediated infection assay and histological and ...

Investigations into non-passive listening

open access: yes, 2007
Our knowledge of the function of the auditory nervous system is based upon a wealth of data obtained, for the most part, in anaesthetised animals. More recently, it has been generally acknowledged that factors such as attention profoundly modulate the ...

Enzyme activity of horse radish peroxidase in surfactant-free microemulsions

open access: yes, 2018
In the present contribution, we investigated the influence of the structuring of surfactant-free microemulsions (SFME) (water/1-propanolilimonene and wateritert-butanolflimonene) on the enzyme activity of horseradish peroxidase (HRP).

Directed Evolution Improves the Catalytic Efficiency of APEX2‐Mediated Proximity‐Dependent RNA Labeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Engineered ascorbate peroxidase APEX2 has been widely used for spatially restricted profiling of subcellular biomolecules, but its catalytic efficiency toward newly developed probes such as biotin‐aniline (Btn‐An) remains suboptimal. To overcome this limitation, we performed yeast surface display‐based directed evolution to enhance APEX2 ...
