Tombel graben and Mounts Bambouto are two volcanic fields of the typical system of alternating graben and horst structure of the Cameroon Volcanic Line. Tombel graben is a young volcanic field, whereas Mounts Bambouto horst is an old stratovolcano with calderas.

Spectral Ratio Estimates for Site Effects on the Horst–Graben System in West Turkey
Pure and Applied Geophysics, 2013Recordings of micro- and moderate-size local earthquakes have been used to quantify site effects in the central-west Turkey which contains one of the world’s best examples of a rapid intra-continental extension with its high population and industrial potential.

JABIRU FIELD — HORST, SUB- HORST OR INVERTED GRABEN?
The APEA Journal, 1989With control from only the Jabiru 1A discovery well and a grid of seismic lines 3 km apart, original oil- in- place at Jabiru was estimated by the operator as 620 MMBBL (100 MkL). With a 3- D seismic grid and three more wells, the original oil- in- place estimate was reduced to 45 MMBBL (7 MkL).

The Nature and Origin of the Horst and Graben Structure of Southern Oregon
The Journal of Geology, 1929In southern Oregon east of the Cascade Mountains a varied series of Tertiary lavas is cut by the northern continuation of the Basin Range faults, giving rise principally to relatively undissected horst and graben structure rather than to tilted fault-block mountains. The tensional origin of these faults is indicated by definite normal faulting, curving,

Icelandic Tectonics—Graben or Horst ?
Geological Magazine, 1941The younger rocks of Iceland (Pliocene to Present Day) occupy the broad median zone shown in Text-fig. I; the boundaries are only approximate in places, and information is lacking with regard to the eastern one particularly. Outside this zone early Tertiary basalts predominate but (I) the uppermost basalts are regarded by some authors as Quaternary, (2)

Abstract Subsurface basement topography in the Nigerian portion of the Benin Basin has been studied using borehole data of wells drilled to the basement and one strike line of seismic section. Two areas of a sharp drop in topography with a horst in between were observed in the study area.

Four different mechanisms (frictional heating, magmatic intrusion, free convection, and forced convection) have been tested as possible causes to explain the localized and relatively high geothermal anomalies found along master faults of graben structures. Forced convection is the only mechanism found to be generally able to generate the anomalies. The

The onshore part of North East Java Basin (NEJB) is a well-known hydrocarbon producing area in Indonesia, with the largest proven reservoir being the Oligo - Miocene carbonates which accumulated over basement horsts. Currently, the understanding of horst distribution is based on previous publications. However, new integration studies on surface data (e.

A Method of Graben and Horst Formation
The Journal of Geology, 1958Grabens and horsts between transcurrent faults in New Zealand, currently explained by normal faulting, are shown to be caused by lateral displacement. The mechanics of the formation of such features is explained.

Abstract South of the Kane fracture zone (23°40′N), the Mid-Atlantic ridge is segmented into 20–100-km-long spreading cells in which morphology, seismic and gravity signatures change along and across the ridge-axis. The rift valley, considered as a typical structure along slow-spreading ridges, can be symmetric or asymmetric, and segment centers ...
