$S^1 \times S^2$ wormholes and topological charge

open access: yes, 1993
I investigate solutions to the Euclidean Einstein-matter field equations with topology $S^1 \times S^2 \times R$ in a theory with a massless periodic scalar field and electromagnetism.

A novel allele of Days to Heading 8 promotes heading, potentially widening indica rice adaptation in Japan

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Flowering time is a critical determinant of regional adaptability. High‐yielding rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties, such as IR64, exhibit an extended vegetative growth period. As a result, IR64 is poorly adapted to high‐latitude regions, such as Hirosaki‐Aomori in northern Japan where prolonged day lengths and chilling stress during later ...

Hosoya and Merrifield-Simmons indices of some classes of corona of two graphs [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics, 2012
Let G = (V;E) be a simple graph of order n and size m. An r-matching of G is a set of r edges of G which no two of them have common vertex. The Hosoya index Z(G) of a graph G is defined as the total number of its matchings.

The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2025/26: G protein‐coupled receptors

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue S1, Page S24-S151, December 2025.
The Concise Guide to Pharmacology 2025/26 marks the seventh edition in this series of biennial publications in the British Journal of Pharmacology. Presented in landscape format, the guide provides a comparative overview of the pharmacology of drug target families. The concise nature of the Concise Guide refers to the style of presentation, being clear,

Biological invasions: a global assessment of geographic distributions, long‐term trends, and data gaps

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 100, Issue 6, Page 2542-2583, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Biological invasions are one of the major drivers of biodiversity decline and have been shown to have far‐reaching consequences for society and the economy. Preventing the introduction and spread of alien species represents the most effective solution to reducing their impacts on nature and human well‐being.

The Effectiveness of Community Nurse Training Programs to Improve Nurses' Competency in Community Settings: a Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nursing Practice, Volume 31, Issue 6, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim This study aimed to synthesise the best available evidence on the training methods used in community nurse training programs and examine the effectiveness of such programs on enhancing competency (knowledge, skills and traits) among nurses or nurse practitioners working in community healthcare units.

Discordant Phylogeographic Patterns in Ecologically Similar Sympatric Sister Species: Revisiting the Null Hypothesis of Comparative Phylogeography

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 52, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim Elucidating the complex factors underlying the current geographic patterns of biodiversity is a central goal in biogeography and phylogeography. Comparative phylogeographic studies of co‐distributed species have often addressed this issue by attributing observed differences in population structures to differences in interpretable traits ...

Two‐Time Approach to Past–Future Quantum Dynamics: Formalism and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 11, November 2025.
A two‐time extension of the past‐future quantum state formalism is presented, describing systems with forward‐ and backward‐evolving states at distinct times. Using this framework, two‐time weak values are defined and applied them to Berry phase, spontaneous decay, and dwell time.

A 3D Atlas of Visceral and Somatic Pelvic Motor Neurons in Whole Mounts of Female and Male Rat Spinal Cords

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 533, Issue 11, November 2025.
Visceral and somatic motor neurons (MNs) of the lumbosacral (L6–S1) spinal cord control the genitourinary organs and pelvic striated muscles. We produced a three‐dimensional (3D) MN atlas of the lumbosacral spinal cord using whole‐mount immunostaining, tissue clearing, and advanced 3D microscopy in male and female rats. In so doing, we identified novel
