What Kind of Social Preparations Are Needed for Xenotransplantation? A Survey Study of the Japanese General Public

open access: yesXenotransplantation, Volume 32, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction With the advent of genome editing technology, xenotransplantation has been attracting attention in recent years as a potential solution to the shortage of organs for transplantation. In Japan, several Japanese universities have reportedly been preparing for the first Japanese clinical trial.

Distance matrices of a tree: two more invariants, and in a unified framework

open access: yes, 2019
Graham-Pollak showed that for $D = D_T$ the distance matrix of a tree $T$, det$(D)$ depends only on its number of edges. Several other variants of $D$, including directed/multiplicative/$q$- versions were studied, and always, det$(D)$ depends only on the

Scaling‐up the Bioconversion of Lignin to 2,4‐Pyridinedicarboxylic Acid With Engineered Pseudomonas putida for Bio‐Based Plastics Production

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 122, Issue 10, Page 2770-2780, October 2025.
ABSTRACT 2,4‐pyridinedicarboxylic acid (PDCA) is a promising bio‐based compound to substitute petroleum‐derived terephthalic acid in plastics. It is produced through the microbial conversion of lignin substrates with engineered microorganisms like Pseudomonas putida.

Extremal Bicyclic Graphs with Respect to Permanental Sums and Hosoya Indices

open access: yesAxioms
Graph polynomials is one of the important research directions in mathematical chemistry. The coefficients of some graph polynomials, such as matching polynomial and permanental polynomial, are related to structural properties of graphs.

Comprehensive Genetic Analysis of NF2 in Sporadic Vestibular Schwannoma

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 5, October 2025.
Comprehensive genetic analyses, including whole‐exome sequencing, methylation analysis, and MLPA, are essential for accurately identifying NF2 inactivation mechanisms in sporadic vestibular schwannomas. The findings suggest that NF2 methylation may contribute to variations in clinical presentation.

Extremal Matching Energy of Complements of Trees

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2016
Gutman and Wagner proposed the concept of the matching energy which is defined as the sum of the absolute values of the zeros of the matching polynomial of a graph.

ON MAXIMAL ENERGY AND HOSOYA INDEX OF TREES WITHOUT PERFECT MATCHING [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2009
AbstractLet G be a simple undirected graph. The energy E(G) of G is the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of the adjacent matrix of G, and the Hosoya index Z(G) of G is the total number of matchings in G. A tree is called a nonconjugated tree if it contains no perfect matching.

Genealogy of Conjugated Acyclic Polyenes

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
Based on the total π-electron energies Eπs of Hückel Molecular Orbital (HMO) method for all the possible isomers of conjugated acyclic polyenes (C2nH2n+2) up to n = 7, the structure–stability relation of the possible isomers was analyzed.
