Local strain energy based fatigue assessment of cruciform welded joints: experimental data analysis and influence of hot-dip galvanization

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Performing the fatigue assessment of a welded joint using the Notch Stress Intensity Factors [1] presents two major challenges. The first is the necessity of a precise reconstruction of the stress field around the notch tip, thus needing an extremely ...

Cruciform welded joints: hot-dip galvanization effect on the fatigue life and local energetic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Even in a well-controlled technological process, a certain variability in the final product is present and this is very well the case of welded joints, where each single joint is slightly different from the others in terms of fillet dimensions ...

Effect of Double Annealing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Medium Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Study of the structure and properties of zinc coating based on zinc‑containing waste – zinc dust on steel products, including threaded surfaces

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия
This paper presents the results of a study on thermodiffusion zinc coatings obtained using a technology where zinc dust – waste from hot‑dip galvanizing created during the air blowing of pipes post‑galvanization – is used as the zinc component on steel ...

Exploring Agrivoltaics: A Pathway to Climate‐Resilient and Productive Land Use in Northern Bangladesh

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The growing demand for food, energy, and water in resource‐constrained regions intensifies land‐use conflicts, where solar photovoltaic (PV) expansion often competes with agriculture. Agrivoltaics, the co‐location of crop cultivation beneath PV systems, offers a potential dual‐use solution to enhance land efficiency. This study presents one of

Applications of a Novel Wireless System for Real‐Time Atmospheric Corrosion Monitoring

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 77, Issue 3, Page 398-414, March 2026.
Developed monitoring system is a powerful tool for real‐time atmospheric corrosion monitoring. Humidity plays a critical role in the corrosion process. Limiting environmental parameters inducing maximum corrosion vary depending on the pollutants present. A monitoring system can be used in a wide range of scientific and practical applications.
