Strategies for achieving real‐world robustness in topologically engineered surfaces with special wettability

open access: yesDroplet, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
Engineered topologies surfaces with special wettability are promising for their ability to precisely customize wetting behaviors and incorporate versatile functionalities, setting them apart from randomly structured surfaces. However, robustness and durability have been hurdles to their broad application.

Wood as Alternative Tank Construction Material in Sustainable Shrimp Aquaculture

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The production of Pacific white shrimp (PWS; Penaeus vannamei) in closed aquaculture systems (CASs) has become an important sector of marine aquaculture. However, there are several issues related to the environmental sustainability of shrimp CAS, including the widespread use of unsustainable construction materials such as plastic, concrete, and steel ...

DURABILITY OF MODULAR BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINTS FOR ROAD BRIDGES

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 244-249, December 2025.
Abstract Modular bridge expansion joints are exposed to considerable loads and load cycles associated with the increase in heavy freight traffic. They are increasingly at risk of corrosion and fatigue necessitating, costly repair measures, often accompanied by road or lane closures.
