Laser hot-wire cladding of Co-Cr-W metal cored wire

open access: yesOptics and Lasers in Engineering, 2020
Laser hot-wire cladding (LHWC) is a hybrid deposition process where the wire is preheated by resistant heat during the deposition process. This process can dramatically increase the deposition efficiency and the material utilization rate.

Using single-sensor hot-wire anemometry for velocity measurements in confined swirling flows [PDF]

open access: yesMeasurement, 2018
This short communication presents a novel technique for measuring the velocity of a confined swirling flow using a single-sensor hot-wire probe. Unlike conventional hot-wire techniques, directional calibration of the hot-wire probe is not required.

Investigation of hot-wire TIG welding based on the heat-conduction

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2018
The hot-wire TIG welding equipment was built based on the heat-conduction method. The temperature-controlling model was developed and verified within a certain temperature range. The results showed that the wire temperature could be maintained at 220±5°C.
