Titanium Corrosion by a Hot Perfluoropolyether
Corrosion, 1980The kinetics and mechanism of titanium corrosion by Krytox MLO-71-6 are reported. The rate of corrosion is found to be dependent on the presence of molecular oxygen in the environment. For titanium corrosion to occur, the lubricant chains must first break down into smaller reactive molecules.

Microcell processes in hot corrosion
Corrosion Science, 1993Abstract It has been proved that there exists a microcell process in hot corrosion. The microcell is mainly determined by inhomogeneities and defect properties in the oxide film formed on the surface of the metal or alloy during hot corrosion. Three experimental methods have been used to prove the above mechanism.
