Hot Deformation Behavior of Bearing Steels

Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 2007
The material behaviors of two types of bearing steels at hot working conditions are investigated. Stress-strain curves at various temperatures (900–1300°C) and strain rates (1–50/s) are obtained by compression tests with a computer controlled servo-hydraulic Gleeble 3800 testing machine. Elongation and reduction of the area are also obtained by tensile

Predicting Hot Deformation of AA5182 Sheet

2012
Aluminum 5000-series alloy sheet materials exhibit substantial ductilities at hot and warm temperatures, even when grain size is not particularly fine. The relatively high strain-rate sensitivity exhibited by these non-superplastic materials, when deforming under solute-drag creep, is a primary contributor to large tensile ductilities.

Microstructure development in hot deformed AA6082

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2011
Abstract Age hardenable aluminium alloys are suitable for hot deformation at temperatures between 300 and 600 °C, depending on the alloy and on the process. During thermo mechanical processes, dynamic and/or static restoration mechanisms take place. In this work, hot compression tests of hot rolled AA6082 and of a hot extruded AA6082 were carried out

Hot Deformation Behavior of NiCr19Co6W10Ti3AlB Superalloy

2018
NiCr19Co6W10Ti3AlB alloy is a kind of precipitation hardening nickel-base superalloy, also is a kind of high temperature and high elasticity alloy. The chemical elements of the alloy composition is very complex, it includes more than 4.5% aging strengthening elements of Al and Ti, and nearly 37% solid solution strengthening elements of Cr, W, Co etc ...

Hot Deformation of Heat-Resistant Steels

2015
The full recrystallisation temperature and the carbon-free bainite phase transformation temperature are determined by the slope-change points in the curve of mean flow stress versus the inverse of temperature. Constitutive equations including the stress exponent and an activation energy term are applied to analyse the hot deformation behaviour of ...

Hot and cold bulk deformation processes

2000
Metals are initially produced by the refining of ores or scrap metal in furnaces. The molten metals or alloys are usually cast into ingots, slabs, or billets. Before metal goods can be manufactured, it is necessary to transform these cast metal forms into intermediate (or semifabricated) products like metal sheets, wire, and rods, which are the ...
