Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Binarity as the solution to the stellar evolution enigma posed by NGC 6791 [PDF]
Binary evolution is investigated as the source for the extreme horizontal branch (EHB) stars in the old and metal rich open cluster NGC~6791. Employing an updated version of our binary stellar evolution code we demonstrate that EHB stars naturally emerge

Gamma flashes from relativistic electron-positron plasma droplets
Ultra-intense lasers are expected to produce, in near future, relativistic electron-positron plasma droplets. Considering the local photon production rate in complete leading order in quantum electrodynamics (QED), we point out that these droplets are ...

Hot Flashes: Common Side Effect
For hot flashes, standards of care are based on established evidence-based practice. Hot flashes are a sensation of heat that can be accompanied by facial flushing, perspiration, chills, heart palpitations, night sweats, and anxiety. Hot flashes occur in 51%-82% or women treated for breast cancer and 80% of men treated for prostate cancer ...

This work introduces a multi‐state probabilistic computing system based on Potts‐model p‐bits using stochastic switching floating body metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (FB‐MOSFETs). By employing drain‐voltage sharing and one‐hot sampling, the system achieves controllable probabilistic behavior.

The diffusion-induced nova scenario. CK Vul and PB 8 as possible observational counterparts [PDF]
We propose a scenario for the formation of DA white dwarfs with very thin helium buffers. For these stars we explore the possible occurrence of diffusion-induced CNO- flashes, during their early cooling stage. In order to obtain very thin helium buffers,
