Semi‐supervised classification of fundus images combined with CNN and GCN

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes, which is a kind of fundus lesion with specific changes. Early diagnosis of DR can effectively reduce the visual damage caused by DR. Due to the variety and different morphology of DR lesions, automatic classification of fundus images in mass screening can ...

COMP Report: CPQR technical quality control guidelines for use of positron emission tomography/computed tomography in radiation treatment planning

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

A transient inflammatory response contributes to oxaliplatin neurotoxicity in mice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1985-1998, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Peripheral neuropathy is a relevant dose‐limiting adverse event that can affect up to 90% of oncologic patients with colorectal cancer receiving oxaliplatin treatment. The severity of neurotoxicity often leads to dose reduction or even premature cessation of chemotherapy.

Unraveling epigenetic heterogeneity across gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas through a standardized analytical framework

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that patients with gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas can be stratified into six distinct subtypes based on genome‐scale DNA methylation profiling. This stratification, achieved using a robust analytical framework, aligns with established tumor characteristics and holds potential to support prognostication.

Unsteady natural convection in a triangular enclosure under isothermal heating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The fluid flow and heat transfer inside a triangular enclosure due to instantaneous heating on the inclined walls are investigated using an improved scaling analysis and direct numerical simulations.

Metallic hot wire anemometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A hot wire anemometer is described which has a body formed of heat resistant metal such as an alloy high in nickel content which supports a probe wire disposed in a V groove in the body.

Limitations in the application of computer simulations of temperature rise of completely new designs of MV metal enclosed switchgear [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Temperature rise simulation deals with different physical domains describing heat generation and heat dissipation effects. Cigr working group A3.36 has conducted a study on temperature rise simulation of switchgear for distribution and transmission level.

Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.

Quantum critical behavior of electrons at the edge of charge order [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider quantum critical points (QCP) in which quantum fluctuations associated with charge rather than magnetic order induce unconventional metallic properties.
