Influence of Hot Forging Parameters on a Low Carbon Continuous Cooling Bainitic Steel Microstructure
Thermomechanical processing of low carbon bainitic steels is used to obtain a bainitic microstructure with good strength and toughness by continuous cooling after forging without the need of further heat treating, hence reducing manufacturing costs ...

The study investigates the influence of DED‐Arc/M versus casting on the microstructure and material properties of X40CrMoV5‐1 (AISI H13) hot‐work tool steel. DED‐Arc/M yields finer microstructures, superior mechanical strength, and ductility, but slightly reduced thermal conductivity.

This review investigates the processing‐microstructure‐property relationships in ferritic stainless steels (FSSs). It highlights advances in deformation behavior, heat treatments, surface modifications, and alloying effects. Theoretical models, including Johnson‐Mehl‐Avrami‐Kolmogorov, Arrhenius, nucleation theory, and diffusion theories, are discussed

Hot-forging of YBa2Cu3Oy ceramic powder.

Alloy Qualification for Producing Quench and Tempered Plate Steels with Extra‐Heavy Gage
This study develops alloy concepts for ultraheavy steel plates (>100 mm) with ≥690 MPa yield strength. Through dilatometry and Jominy testing, the effects of Mo, Ni, and B on hardenability are quantified. A synergy between 0.5% Mo and 0.5%–1.0% Ni ensures core strength at low cooling rates, while boron microalloying suppresses ferrite and promotes ...

The effects of thermomechanical history on the microstructure of a nickel-base superalloy during forging [PDF]
The effect of thermo-mechanical history on hot compression behaviour and resulting microstructures of a nickel base superalloy is presented. Hot compression tests were carried out on HAYNES® 282® specimens to varying strains from 0.1 to 0.8.
