Hot Isostatic Pressing Control of Tungsten-Based Composites
Metal-oxide composites are commonly used in high temperature environments for their thermal stability and high melting points. Commonly employed with refractory oxides or carbides such as ZrC and HfC, these materials may be improved with the use of a low

Phanerozoic Large Igneous Province, Petroleum System, and Source Rock Links
Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

An Investigation of Iodovanadinite Wasteforms for the Immobilisation of Radio-Iodine and Technetium
99Tc and 129I are two long-lived, highly soluble and mobile fission products that pose a long-term hazard. A proposed wasteform for the disposal of radio-iodine is iodovanadinite (Pb5(VO4)3I), an apatite-structured vanadate.

Mechanisms of hot-isostatic pressing [PDF]
Abstract The hot-isostatic pressing of lead, tin and PMMA has been studied, using a rig which enables continuous measurement of density during a test. For the range of experimental conditions used, the dominant mechanisms of densification are plasticity and creep. We found large discrepancies between the data and previous models for these mechanisms.
