Oxidative Aging of Asphalt Binders in Hot-Mix Asphalt Mixtures

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2011
This study evaluated the effect of different aggregate sources along with their Corresponding change in mixture characteristics to determine the influence of both on binder oxidation rates and changes in mixture stiffness when compacted mixtures were exposed to laboratory aging conditions.

On the Mechanical Modeling of Asphalt Matrix and Hot Mix Asphalt Mixtures

Airfield and Highway Pavements, 2008
This paper discusses the mechanical modeling of the asphalt matrix (AM) and hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixtures for two types of aggregates and one asphalt grade. The AM gradation was extracted from the HMA gradation passing No. 8-sieve. Hydrated lime was used as a binder additive to investigate the improvement in mixture properties.

Analysis of Temperature-Dropping Characteristics of Warm Mix Asphalt and Hot Mix Asphalt

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In order to research the temperature-dropping characteristics of warm mix and hot mix asphalt, some rutting test panels are used as specimens to determine the temperature-dropping characteristics of hot mix asphalt(HMA), warm mix asphalt(WMA) with mixing additive “LuBo” and warm mix asphalt with mixing additive “Sasobit” under the conditions with ...

Cracking Performance of Lower Asphalt Binder Coarse Hot Mix Asphalt Mixes

2016
Historically, asphalt mixtures in Minnesota have been produced to be fine-graded in nature. Recently, there are increasingly more coarse-graded mixtures being produced with relatively low asphalt binder content as compared to fine-graded mixtures. The performance of the coarser low asphalt content mixes is not known; therefore, the objective of this ...
