Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Ion stopping in dense plasma target for high energy density physics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The basic physics of nonrelativistic and electromagnetic ion stopping in hot and ionized plasma targets is thoroughly updated. Corresponding projectile-target interactions involve enhanced projectile ionization and coupling with target free electrons ...

Long-lived hot and dense plasma from relativistic laser–nanowire array interaction [PDF]

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes
Long-lived hot and dense plasmas generated by ultra-intense laser beams are of critical importance for laser-driven nuclear physics, bright hard X-ray sources, and laboratory astrophysics. We report the experimental observation of plasmas with nanosecond-

Hot Plasma in the Galaxy [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1998
In the X-ray band, we can see weak and extended X-rays along the Galactic plane and near the Galactic Bulge region, although these regions are dominated by many point sources (e.g., Warwick et al. 1985). The Tenma satellite discovered conspicuous emission lines from selected regions near the Galactic plane (Koyama et al. 1986).

Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Microwave heating of hot, overdense plasmas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Calculations were made of the heating of hot (approx. 5 keV), overdense (10/sup 8/ critical density) deuterium plasmas by 1 cm microwaves with an incident power of 5 x 10/sup 16/ watts/cm/sup 2/.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

The kinetics of nuclear processes in hot D6Li and DD plasmas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The paper is devoted to a detailed analysis of hot non-relativistic D6 Li and DD plasmas. Non-isothermic processes in hot DD plasmas and their effect on energy release, loss, etc. are studied.
