Process Optimization for Multi-Veneer Hot-Press Drying

Drying Technology, 2014
The 1 to 20 veneers of Eucalyptus saligna were dried using a hot press with a pressure of 0.1–0.4 MPa and a temperature of 120–160°C.The energy consumption and properties of the veneers were examin...

Heat-transfer process during hot-pressing of flakeboard

Frontiers of Forestry in China, 2006
Hot-pressing is the main process in flakeboard manufacture. Studies in this field also emphasize the effect on the heat-transfer process of the following factors: hot-pressing temperature, original moisture content (MC), target thickness and target density.

Processing Zirconia by Sintering/Hot Isostatic Pressing

Advanced Ceramic Materials, 1988
Sintering followed by hot isostatic pressing is a potential method for improving the mechanical properties of ceramic materials. Encouraging data have been presented and published but these data do not clearly show the origin of the benefits. Here, the effects of green density, time, temperature, and pressure on sintered density, grain size, and pore ...

Hot isostatic pressing process simulation: application to metal powders

Canadian Journal of Physics, 2012
Deformation and transport mechanisms of matter, which intervene in the powder densification process by hot isostatic pressing (HIP), are very complicated to put into equation form. Their contribution to densification depends on powder characteristics, their configuration in aggregates, and the used HIP cycle parameters (temperature, pressure, and time)

‘Reactive Hot Pressing’ : a New Ceramic Process

Nature, 1965
REACTIVE hot pressing is a new process by which powdered materials can be densified and materials of considerable strength can be produced. The term ‘reactive hot pressing’ is new and has been coined to distinguish this process from other known ceramic processes, such as sintering, hot pressing or pressure fabrication.

Hot-pressed porcelain process for porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1975
A technique has been described that simplifies the production of full-coverage, porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations. The process utilizes a furnace-flask system in which the restoration is invested in a high-temperature refractory material and processed at an elevated temperature (1,850 degrees F.) under pressure.

Hot press molding process for pyramid-type glass optical multiplexer

Optical Engineering, 2014
By developing a pyramid-shaped reflector, we were able to remove the optical filter that causes the decline in light efficiency in existing systems. A pyramid-type glass optical multiplexer (MUX) can be designed for beam coupling efficiency >60% in a combined module.

Air-processed organic photovoltaic devices fabricated with hot press lamination

Organic Electronics, 2011
Abstract A detailed method for air-processed, inverted Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) devices using lamination of the metal electrode with a doped conducting polymer adhesive is presented. A poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) - [6,6] phenyl C61 butyric methyl ester (PCBM) bulk heterojunction is used, with a solution-processed ZnO electron collection layer ...
