An Online Condition Assessment of Box Substation in Wind Farm Based on Hypothesis Testing
With the rapid development of wind generation, the box substation is widely applied in the wind farm. However the box substation is more prone to break down than the conventional power transformer, due to the uncertainty of wind power.

Study on the Method of Calculating Temperature Rise of Transformer [PDF]
The internal temperature of the transformer is a key parameter to measure the thermal state of the transformer. The service life of the transformer generally depends on the life of the insulating material, and high temperature is the main reason why ...

Hot spots become cold spots: coevolution in variable temperature environments
AbstractAntagonistic coevolution between hosts and parasites is a key process in the genesis and maintenance of biological diversity. Whereas coevolutionary dynamics show distinct patterns under favourable environmental conditions, the effects of more realistic, variable conditions are largely unknown.

Reduction of the Hot Spot Temperature in HTS Coils [PDF]
A potential future muon collider requires high field solenoids ( 30 T) for the final cooling stage; the Magnet Division at Brookhaven National Laboratory is undertaking the task of demonstrating feasibility using high-temperature superconductors (HTS). The aim is to construct an all-HTS dual-coil system capable of delivering more than 20 T. Recently, a

Temperature and Composition of Saturn's Polar Hot Spots and Hexagon
Saturn's poles exhibit an unexpected symmetry in hot, cyclonic polar vortices, despite huge seasonal differences in solar flux. The cores of both vortices are depleted in phosphine gas, probably resulting from subsidence of air into the troposphere. The warm cores are present throughout the upper troposphere and stratosphere at both poles.
