Semi-hot Stamping as an Improved Process of Hot Stamping
Journal of Materials Science & Technology, 2011Reducing the forming load, deletion of springback, increasing the formability of sheets as well as producing high strength parts are the main reasons to apply hot stamping process. Hot stamping process and 22MnB5 steels are the state of the art process and grades, respectively; however novel processes and steel grades are under considerations.

Development of concurrent stamping-piercing trimless hot stamping process
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2017After a material undergoes hot stamping, post-processes are required to ensure that the final product has the expected quality. Typical post-processes are mechanical or laser trimming and piercing. These post-processes are expensive and time consuming because when the material undergoing hot stamping cools, its strength becomes very high.
