The Study on Weldability of Boron Steel and Hot-Stamped Steel by Using Laser Heat Source (III) - Comparison on Laser Weldability of Boron Steel and Hot-Stamped Steel -

Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers A, 2015
This study was conducted to compare the laser weldability of boron steel and hot-stamped steel. In general, boron steel is used in the hot-stamping process. Hot-stamping is a method for simultaneously forming and cooling boron steel in a press die after heating it to the austenitizing temperature.

Hot stamping of ultra-thin stainless steel for microchannels

Materials Research Proceedings, 2023
Abstract. Bipolar plate is one of the core components of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), in which microchannels with regular distribution separate and distribute the fuel gas at the anode and oxygen/air at the cathode, and remove the reaction products from the cell. Dimensional deviations of microchannels affect assembly accuracy, thereby

Investigation of the thermo-mechanical properties of hot stamping steels

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2006
Abstract Within the innovative hot forming process for sheet metals, called hot stamping, it is possible to combine forming and quenching in one process step. This affords the opportunity to manufacture components with complex geometric shapes, high strength and a minimum of springback which currently find applications as crash relevant components in

Investigation of Heat Transfer in Hot Stamping of Boron Steel

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2016
An optimization-based numerical procedure was developed to determine the tool temperature-dependent heat-transfer coefficient (HTC) between the blank and tools during the hot stamping of boron steel. During the quenching period, HTC decreased with the increasing tool temperature. There was no obvious linear relationship between the two.

Hot V-Bend Formability of Galvannealed Boron Steel for Hot Stamping

2012
The hot stamping process has been widely applied to the production of automotive body parts because the stamped panels with both high strength and good shape-accuracy are easily obtained. For the purpose of omitting the de-scalling treatment, the galvannealed (GA) boron steel for hot stamping was developed.

Experimental Investigation of Hot Forming of Zn‐Coated Hot‐Stamping Steel

steel research international
An investigation on the thermal property, fracture mechanism of substrate and coating layer, liquid‐metal embrittlement (LME) crack, coating layer morphology, microstructure, and hardness of Zn‐coated hot‐stamping steel is presented. The effect of forming temperature on the LME is studied.

Hot Stamping Processing Experiments of Quenchable Boron Steel

Materials Science Forum, 2008
The quenchable boron steel is a novel type of ultra high strength steel used for automotive parts so as to reduce the weight of the whole automobile. The hot stamping processing experiments for bending parts were studied. The influence of the hot stamping processing parameters, such as the heating temperature, the heat holding time and the cooling ...

Constitutive relationships of hot stamping boron steel B1500HS

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
Constitutive relationship of boron steel is one of the most necessary mathematical models in the numerical simulation of hot stamping. It describes the relationship of the flow stress with strain, strain rate and temperature. In order to simulate hot stamping and get the approximately correct simulation results, the specimens are designed and tested to

Modelling of phase transformation in hot stamping of boron steel

2011
Knowledge of phase transformations in a hot stamping and cold die quenching process (HSCDQ) is critical for determining physical and mechanical properties of formed parts. Currently, no modelling technique is available to describe the entire process. The research work described in this thesis deals with the modelling of phase transformation in HSCDQ of
