Getting warmer: a field trial of heat pumps [PDF]
Given the lack of data on heat pump performance in customers’ homes, the Energy Saving Trust in partnership with the Open University undertook the first large-scale heat pump field trial in the UK to determine how heat pumps perform in real-life ...

Ultrastrong TEMPO‐Oxidized Densified Bamboo via Interface Decoupling and Hierarchical Toughening
This study develops TEMPO‐oxidized densified bamboo that achieves ultrahigh strength and toughness by decoupling rigid hydrogen bonds into reversible van der Waals interactions. TEMPO oxidation reorganizes the cellulose hydrogen‐bonding network, facilitating energy dissipation via reversible interactions, thereby establishing a general strategy to ...

The Use of Contact Heat Generators of the New Generation for Heat Production [PDF]
We substantiated the need for searching for, and realization of, fundamentally new approaches, using more efficient physical, heat-mass-exchanging and aerodynamic processes, which will make it possible to improve energy effectiveness and ecological ...

A dual‐network architecture combining a thermally reinforced hydrogen‐bonding matrix with an amine‐anhydride covalent framework was constructed in Tröger's Base (TB)‐functionalized polybenzimidazoles. This design yielded the TBAm‐PBI‐TB membrane with high acid uptake (469.5%), anhydrous conductivity (264.7 mS cm−1), and robust stability.

Study of heat exchange processes in a screw ash cooler installation
The paper presents an example of the thermal-flow analysis of a bottom ash cooler cooperating with a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler. The authors present the methodology of the conducted studies and examples of thermal balance calculations basing ...

Abstract The accurate detection of glucose in wound exudate is critically important for monitoring chronic wound healing. While photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors are widely used, they often suffer from material degradation caused by redox reactions during operation. Herein, we introduce a dark‐field microscopy (DFM) setup integrated with a PEC system,

Design Margins: Impact on Building Energy Performance [PDF]
This paper examines the addition of design margins for building services energy infrastructure during the design process. It argues that care must be taken when applying margins; ensuring cumulative effects do not undermine the ability of systems to be ...
