MESHING PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF FACE ROLLER ENVELOPING HOURGLASS WORM DIRVE

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2022
Based on the research of worm gear pair and double roller enveloping hourglass worm without backlash, a new type of worm drive with end roller enveloping is proposed.

Mathematical description of tooth flank surface of globoidal worm gear with straight axial tooth profile

open access: yesOpen Engineering, 2017
In this article, a mathematical description of tooth flank surface of the globoidal worm and worm wheel generated by the hourglass worm hob with straight tooth axial profile is presented. The kinematic system of globoidal worm gear is shown. The equation

Machining and Performance Testing of Inclined Double-roller Enveloping Hourglass Worm Drive

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2018
To eliminate the gear backlash,a new inclined double-roller enveloping hourglass worm drive is proposed. The meshing performance is analyzed based on the meshing geometry of inclined double-roller enveloping hourglass worm drive.

Transmission errors in precision worm gear drives [PDF]

open access: yes
Transmission error is a measure of the positioning accuracy of a gear system. This has been widely documented in gearing for many years as the source of problems in noise and vibration.

A study on hourglass-worm gearings designed to concentrate surface normals. A gear disign using an hourglass-worm gearing with an arcuate tooth profile.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1990
In order to avoid the influence of the displacement of gear axes under load upon tooth contact, the authors propose that a projective group of the surface normals should be concentrated upon the intersection point of the plane perpendicular to the wheel axis and the axis about which the worm axis rotates, displacing its position relative to the wheel ...

Temperature Field Simulation and Experimental Study of Anti-backlash Single-Roller Enveloping Hourglass Worm Gear

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2020
In gear transmission, temperature rise has a non-negligible impact on the accuracy, noise and transmission efficiency. However, there is no relevant research on the temperature rise of the anti-backlash single-roller enveloping hourglass worm (ASEHW ...

Processing Window and Microstructure of NiCoCrAlY Coating Deposited on Cast Iron Using Multilayer Laser Cladding

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Cast iron is an iron‐carbon alloy widely used in mechanical engineering. Nickel‐base or cobalt‐base alloy coatings prepared by laser cladding can improve the surface properties of cast iron, thereby increasing the service life of the components; however, due to the poor weldability and high carbon content of cast iron, the use of laser cladding to ...

Experimental Efficiency Comparison of Worm Gear Mechanism and Newly Designed Ball Worm Gear Mechanism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Worm gear mechanism transmits power in very small volumes at very high gear ratios. However, their efficiency is very low compared with other gear mechanisms. They have also wear and overheating problems because of force transmission with sliding. On the

Theoretical and experimental investigation of accurately turning the TI worm tooth surface

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2015
The toroidal involute worm (TI worm) drive is composed of an involute gear and an hourglass worm generated by the involute gear surface, and it is of great advantages for power transmission.

Timing by rhythms: Daily clocks and developmental rulers

open access: yesDevelopment, Growth &Differentiation, Volume 58, Issue 1, Page 43-58, January 2016., 2016
We compare and contrast two biological "clocks". The circadian clock is used by organisms to regulate their behaviour in time with the 24 hour daily planetary cycle, whereas the segmentation clock appears to be an oscillatory ruler that is used briefly during development to subdivide the body axis into morphological segments.
