TRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1991 Abstract A method to obtain the higher productivity of hourglass worm gearing with high performance is developed. For this purpose, a method for manufacturing the worm by a pinion cutter is developed, along with a method for analyzing how the cutting blades generate the worm tooth surface.
