Joint action of insecticides against houseflies
Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1976Mixtures of DDT, lindane, endrin, isobenzan, malathion, thiometon, and carbaryl were formulated on an equitoxicity basis. The joint action of 14 mixtures of insecticides was studied against the female housefly (Musca nebulo L.) by a topical application method.

Factors influencing phototaxis of houseflies
Journal of Insect Physiology, 1971Abstract When houseflies, Musca domestica , were given a choice of crawling to dark or to radiation of varied wavelength and intensity, flies reared on a fermenting plant medium (CSMA) had a photonegative response to 525 to 575 nm radiation; flies reared on semidefined diet ( Monroe , 1962) had a photopositive response to this region.

MALE HOUSEFLIES CLEARLY SEE BETTER
Journal of Experimental Biology, 2003![Figure][1] When a male housefly sets his sights on a female, there's a lot at stake. In a high-speed chase, he's got to get his gal, or loose his chance of genetic immortality. The stakes are high enough for male flies to have developed a specialised eye structure, the `lovespot', that ...
