Fenofibrate potentiates the therapeutic efficacy of EZH2 inhibitors on melanoma via TRIM21‐ and OTUD4‐mediated EZH2 ubiquitination

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose EZH2 (enhancer of zeste homologue 2) inhibitors are an emerging class of drugs that target epigenetic regulation. However, their efficacy in solid tumours has been limited, partly due to drug‐induced upregulation of fatty acid synthesis.

Thrombospondin‐4 is upregulated in abdominal aortic aneurysm: A vasoprotective response with potential therapeutic relevance

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
TSP4 is upregulated in human and experimental AAA. TSP4 knockdown accelerated AAA formation and exacerbated both vascular inflammation and remodelling, emphasizing that TSP4 upregulation may represent a protective response against AAA. Our findings suggest that preserving TSP4 could be a useful strategy in the clinical management of AAA.

Expression of Glycoprotein B (gB) Correlates With Poor Prognosis in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
The extent of EBV lytic replication in NPC has not been fully clarified. Our study demonstrated EBV replication and release in NPC and identified a significant association between expression of the late lytic protein gB and poor prognosis. These findings suggest that late lytic gene products may contribute to tumor progression and that gB represents a ...

SOD2‐Superoxide Metabolic Axis Regulates Mitophagy and Modulates TKIs Sensitivity in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Our findings provide compelling evidence that the SOD2‐superoxide metabolic axis functions as a mitochondrial redox checkpoint that governs mitophagy and ultimately shapes TKI sensitivity. ABSTRACT Superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) has been implicated in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), yet its mechanistic contribution in regulating tumor ...

Homozygous Loss‐of‐Function Variant in SLC20A1 Coding for Ubiquitous Phosphate Transporter PiT1 Is Associated With Multiple Developmental Abnormalities

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
Biallelic SLC20A1 loss‐of‐function variant causes a previously unrecognized multisystem developmental disorder. We report the first homozygous case presenting with tetralogy of Fallot, renal agenesis, polydactyly, and growth impairment. Transcriptome analysis of patient‐derived fibroblasts suggests significant dysregulation of pathways critical for ...

Clinical Factors Associated With Current Relevance in Allergic Contact Dermatitis: Development of Predictive Models Based on Data From the Spanish Contact Dermatitis Register (REIDAC)

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
This study has shown a moderate performance of the regression model to predict current relevance (AUC = 0.679), although modelling performance has been better for specific allergens (e.g., nickel with an AUC = 0.770). Furthermore, it has identified key predictors, including female gender, specific involved sites (hands, neck, head, legs, feet), and ...
