Steady and unsteady multiblock hovering rotor simulations
A multiblock upwind Euler solver is presented and applied to multibladed lifting hovering rotor ¯ow. Hovering rotor ¯ows can be simulated as a steady case in a blade-®xed rotating coordinate system.

UAV‐Based Precision Seed Dropping for Automated Reforestation
ABSTRACT Wildfires and deforestation pose significant threats to forest ecosystems, motivating scalable methods for reforestation beyond labor‐intensive cultivation of native forest seedlings in nurseries. To enable large‐scale direct seeding of native species, this paper presents the design, analysis, and field evaluation of a UAV‐based seed‐dropping ...

Energetics of a hovering hummingbird
Hovering, an extremely impressive aerial art, is a very energetically expensive type of flight. The largest animals capable of performing the feat, hummingbirds are presumed to have one of the biggest energy outputs for their size of all avian creatures.
