Visual Identification and Comparison of Higher Order Properties in State Transition Sequences

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract The analysis of state transition sequences is a prevalent research topic in many domains. In this context, we introduce the term higher‐order property to describe characteristics of the analyzed data set that span beyond the local neighborhood of a single state.

A Theoretical Approach for Structuring and Analysing Knowledge Provenance for Visual Analytics

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
VAKG unfolds the interactions within the current knowledge model (A) into a temporal knowledge graph (B), which is structured as a 4‐way graph containing two temporal (green) and two static (yellow) knowledge graphs. By using VAKG, one can structure and store the user's knowledge‐gathering process and all related interactions for eventual analysis (C).

Survey on Visualization of Information Diffusion over Networks

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Information Diffusion (ID) describes how a value (e.g., a pathogen, a rumor, a packet) spreads through an underlying “medium” network of elements (e.g., a social or computer network). Understanding the information diffusion process is essential to predicting trends, controlling misinformation, and enhancing decision‐making as well as ...

CAnDE: Entity‐Based Relationship Exploration Using a Cards and Decks Metaphor

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We present CAnDE, a visual analytics approach for exploring dynamically defined entities in digital criminal data. Inspired by evidence boards, CAnDE uses a cards and decks metaphor that maps complex concepts to familiar interactions, including rotating, flipping and stacking cards.

VisQI: A Visual Analysis Tool for the Debugging of Quantum Image Processing Algorithms

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We present VisQI, an interactive visualization framework that facilitates the analysis and debugging of quantum image processing (QIMP) algorithms using NEQR‐encoded images. VisQI allows users to inspect quantum operations on images step by step, providing a deeper understanding of image evolution.
