Contribution to the Identification of Porosity Type in AlSiCu High-Pressure-Die-Castings by Experimental and Virtual Way

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2015
The paper concerns the problem of discontinuity in high pressure die castings (HPDC). The compactness of their structure is not perfect, as it is sometimes believed.

Critical Role of Skin in Pathogenesis: Bidirectional Crosstalk Between Skin and Multiple Organs

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 4, Issue 2, June 2025.
The skin functions as both a protective barrier and an autonomous immune organ, maintaining dynamic interactions with internal organs. This review analyzes skin‐organ crosstalk mechanisms, highlighting key cytokines (particularly IL‐17A) and microbial metabolites that mediate interorgan communication.

Innovative cooling solutions of HPDC technology

open access: yesMultidiszciplináris Tudományok
In High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC), the so-called sliders are moving components of the mould, that can form cavities, holes, and undercuts. Sliders differ greatly from fixed- and moving mould halves regarding cooling and thermal balance. Typically, mould halves can range from a few hundred kilograms to several tonnes in size, whereas sliders have a ...

4D Biofabrication of Magnetically Augmented Callus Assembloid Implants Enables Rapid Endochondral Ossification via Activation of Mechanosensitive Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
Magnetically augmented biohybrid cartilaginous microtissues enable remote microtissue motion control and assembly as well as targeted differentiation. This study demonstrates accelerated endochondral ossification under magnetic stimulation, highlighting cartilaginous assembloid constructs’ ability to retain long‐term magnetic properties.

Low‐toxicity metal–organic frameworks: Sustainable solutions for versatile applications

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, Volume 46, Issue 3, Page 265-280, March 2025.
Developing low‐toxicity Metal‐organic Frameworks (MOFs) involves challenges related to stability, scalability, and cost‐effectiveness. Research now focuses on improving MOF design to enhance robustness and exploring greener synthesis methods to minimize environmental impact. Abstract The conventional synthesis of metal‐organic framework (MOF) materials

Recent Sociocultural Changes Reverse the Long‐Term Trend of Declining Habitat Availability for Large Wild Mammals in Europe

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 30, Issue 12, December 2024.
ABSTRACT Aim People have strongly influenced the biosphere for millennia, but how their increasing activities have shaped wildlife distribution is incompletely understood. We examined how the distribution of European large (>8 kg), wild mammals has changed in association with changing anthropogenic pressures and climate change through the Holocene ...

Challenges and Support when Introducing AM in HPDC Tooling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
When manufacturing tooling inserts for HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting), several manufacturing steps such as milling, heat treatment, electro discharge machining and finally surface treatment are involved. By instead manufacturing the insert by SLM (Selective laser melting), the process is expected to be quicker and with less material waste compared to
