Modeling and Verification of 1/f Noise Mechanisms in FAPbBr3 Single‐Crystal X‐Ray Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstratethat surface‐trap‐induced carrier number fluctuations are the dominantmechanism in FAPbBr3 Schottky devices, a conclusion supported by thedistinct defect profiles revealed by Drive‐Level Capacitance Profiling (DLCP). Throughnoise contribution decomposition, it is found that the 1/f noise of thedetector is the key noise source affecting ...

Vibration Reduction in a Pulse Tube-Cooled High Purity Germanium Detector

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
High-purity germanium (HPGe) is a vibration-sensitive, high-resolution detector. It has been found that microphonic noise induced by vibration and electromagnetic interference from EMC causes energy resolution degradation in HPGe detectors. In this paper,

Radium Speciation in Simulated Digestive Biofluids: Insights from Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry and Thermodynamic Modeling

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) combined with thermodynamic modeling provides the first direct characterization of radium speciation in synthetic gastrointestinal biofluids. Free Ra2+ ions predominate with minimal protein binding and negligible EDTA complexation. Crown ethers enable effective Ra complexation.

Under the Shade of a Coolabah Tree: A Second Cache of Tulas From the Boulia District, Western Queensland

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper reports on the excavation of a cache of stone artefacts, buried on the bank of a waterhole or ‘billabong’ in central western Queensland. This is an extremely rare find, and yet it is the second such site to be reported within less than a 10 km radius.

Simulation study on transient temperature field characteristics of HPGe detectors simulated by the COMSOL method

open access: yesHe jishu
BackgroundHigh-purity Ge (HPGe) detectors are widely used in nuclear science, technology, and national defense because of their excellent energy resolution capability, which enables them to fingerprint gamma rays and accurately determine nuclide types ...

Initial Performance Testing of Sri Gamma Spectroscopy Scintillators and Comparison to Other Improved-Resolution Detectors for Typical Health Physics Applications [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Europium-doped Strontium Iodide (SrI) scintillation gamma detectors have only recently become commercially available. SrI has very high light output ranging from 80,000-100,000 ph/MeV and energy resolution as good as 2.9% at 662 keV and 14.8% at 32 keV ...
