Strengths of the resonances at 436, 479, 639, 661, and 1279 keV in the $^{22}$Ne(p,$\gamma$)$^{23}$Na reaction

open access: yes, 2015
The $^{22}$Ne(p,$\gamma$)$^{23}$Na reaction is included in the neon-sodium cycle of hydrogen burning. A number of narrow resonances in the Gamow window dominates the thermonuclear reaction rate. Several resonance strengths are only poorly known.

Simulation of a HPGe Detector with GEANT4

open access: yesRevista Politécnica, 2022
Gamma spectroscopy is an analytic technique that identifies isotopes through gamma rays. Currently, gamma spectroscopy is widely used in several science fields, for instance, the study of the hydrodynamics of soils and other applications. Considering the development of computers, it has been developed Monte-Carlo simulation packages, in order to ...

Experimental Determination of L Shell Fluorescence Yields and Coster–Kronig Transition Probabilities of Platinum

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, Volume 55, Issue 1, Page 190-201, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT An accurate database of atomic fundamental parameters (FPs) is crucial for quantitative material analysis based on x‐ray fluorescence (XRF). Given the wide range of applications and the limited reliability of existing experimental FPs for the L subshells of platinum, we determined its partial L fluorescence yields and Coster–Kronig transition ...

Positron Emission Intensity in the Decay of 86gY for Use in Dosimetry Studies

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The β+-emitting radionuclide 86gY (t1/2 = 14.7 h) forms a matched-pair with the β−-emitting therapeutic radionuclide 90Y (t1/2 = 2.7 d) for theranostic application in medicine.

Search for $\beta^+$EC and ECEC processes in $^{112}$Sn

open access: yes, 2009
Limits on $\beta^+$EC (here EC denotes electron capture) and ECEC processes in $^{112}$Sn have been obtained using a 380 cm$^3$ HPGe detector and an external source consisting of 53.355 g enriched tin (94.32% of $^{112}$Sn). A limit with 90% C.L. on the $

An Extended Amplitude Range Readout Circuit for Charged Particle Detection–BEAR 2

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Charge sensitive amplifiers (CSA) form the first stage of most detector readout circuits. The operating range of the readout circuits depends on the saturation limits of the Charge sensitive amplifiers, thereby limiting the range of the detector system as well. A number of methods have been introduced to extend the dynamic range of the readout

New encapsulation technology for HPGe detectors

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal A
Abstract A new encapsulation technology for HPGe detectors operating in ultra high vacuum or in inert atmosphere of high purity gas was developed. The high-purity Ge detectors for radiation detection is based on a reusable receptacle or enclosure.
