Degradation of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) by acoustic and hydrodynamic cavitation

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
The present study aims to investigate the degradation of HPMC on a laboratory scale by acoustic and hydrodynamic cavitation. The effects of temperature and the addition of an external oxidizing agent on the effectiveness of HPMC degradation were systematically investigated by SEC/MALS-RI, FTIR and 1H NMR.

Diffusion and Adsorption of Copper Ion in HPMC-modified Bentonite

open access: yes
A series of through-diffusion tests were carried out to explore the diffusion and adsorption behaviors of Cu2+ in bentonites modified with hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC). The test results were compared with those of untreated bentonite.

The effect of organic salts on HPMC

open access: yes
The presence of organic salts as drug counter-ions and buffers in hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) matrices is often overlooked. This study investigates their potential to influence polymer solution properties and matrix drug release kinetics.
