VRK1 Is a Novel Therapeutic Target for Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix (SCNEC), a rare but aggressive cancer, consistently exhibited high VRK1 expression. VRK1 knockdown significantly suppressed xenograft tumor growth by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction. These findings highlighted VRK1 as a potential therapeutic target for SCNEC.

Comparative Cytokine and Histology Studies on HPV and Other Viral Vaccinations: No Pathogenicity of HPV Vaccine Adjuvants

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Anti‐HPV vaccine activists claimed that aluminum (Al) adjuvants in HPV vaccines could cause immune abnormalities, leading to neurological diseases. We evaluated the cytokine and histology profiles following administrations of HPV vaccines and other viral vaccines containing adjuvants.

Single‐Cell RNA‐Seq Reveals the Effect of Commensal Bacteria on the Multistep Development of Esophageal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
These results shed light on the impact of commensal microbiome on phenotypes and transition fates of different cell types across the tumorigenic processes of ESCC and may have implications for ESCC prevention and treatment. ABSTRACT Microbiomes within the tumor microenvironment (TME) are intricately linked to the modulation of cancer cell properties ...
