HRSC on Mars Express – Photogrammetric and Cartographic Research

open access: yesPhotogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2005
The High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on the European spacecraft Mars Express is the first camera on a planetary mission especially designed for photogrammetric and cartographic purposes. Since January 2004 the camera has been taking image data from the Martian surface, characterized by high-resolution, stereo capability and color.

Coregistration of CTX images to HRSC Global Datasets

2023
The current approach for ortho-rectifying images taken by the Context Camera (CTX) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) uses MOLA data as a global reference ([1]), but this approach is imprecise, specifically at the equator, due to the large difference in spatial resolution between the two datasets (6 vs 463 m/pix).  Automatic ...

The experiments HRSC and WAOSS on the Russian Mars 94/96 missions

Acta Astronautica, 1996
Abstract The two German cameras; High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) and Wide Angle Optoelectronic Stereo Scanner (WAOSS) will be flown on the Russian Mars missions. The paper gives an overview of the scientific objectives of the camera experiments and the basic instrument design parameters. The operational concept and the expected data products are

Numerical Relativistic Hydrodynamics: HRSC Methods

2013
AbstractThis chapter is devoted to the analysis of those numerical methods based on the conservative formulation of the equations, as is the case of the relativistic-hydrodynamics equation. Conservative schemes are discussed both in their finite-volume version and in their finite-difference version, which differ in the fact of evolving in time the cell-
